SBRA Cares Ride 2024 to benefit Long Island Cares, the Harry Chapin Food Bank

A SPECIAL RIDE TO HELP FEED THE HUNGRY.
Join us on this "Members Only" charity ride to help feed the hungry in our communities.
$20 to register for this ride
(click here to signup now).
All proceeds go to:
Long Island Cares, the Harry Chapin Food Bank.
Unfortunately, 39% are children under 18 and nearly 48% are working poor.
Let’s ALL join in this ride and help make a difference in someone’s life.
Your donation can help feed some of the 65,000 people on LI who need food assistance each week.
ADDITIONAL DONATIONS ENCOURAGED.
NON-RIDING MEMBERS CAN JOIN IN WITH YOUR OWN DONATION.
RAIN DATE: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6TH
There will be multiple ride levels available. All rides should complete by 2:00pm. There will be a bring a dish tailgate style celebration after the ride.

To our Dear CycleNY Friends,
We hope this note and update finds everyone doing well, enjoying the beginning of spring and a new riding season!
We miss you all and we wanted to reach out to you and share some updates.
Although the Stony Brookside as we all know it is no longer, we are still very actively involved with supporting the New York Bicycling Coalition and it’s mission. As a result, we are still planning a new CycleNY ride for all of you to ride and enjoy as we have done in the years past.
We will be planning new routes from a new location with new sights to see along the way. This will be a fun ride to plan and a fun route to ride, guaranteed. As usual we promise the same delectable treats and libations to enjoy throughout with a happy and friendly group of riders.
We take great pleasure in ensuring every rider has a great experience, as always!
Our 9th Annual CycleNY ride is currently being planned for October 13th, so plug that date in to your calendar for this year’s ride.
Some of you may have tried to reach out recently, but our contact info has changed. Please feel free to reach out to us by email at elyse@nybc.net

November General Meeting 2024 (IN PERSON) -- Annual Officers and Directors Election Night

a goAnnual Officers and Directors final Nominations and Election Night
Officers and Directors Nominations will be presented again by the Nomination Committee as was done at the October meeting. If you are interested in running for a position on the board, you can still step up and be nominated at the November meetings. Just have a fellow member nominate you when the nomination committee or president asks if there are any other nominations from the floor.
Once the request for nomination from the floor has been asked and answered, no other nominations will be accepted. If there is only one SBRA Member running for each board position then the SBRA Secretary will cast a single vote for each position, which will represent the vote on behalf of the membership. Should more than one SBRA Member run for a particular board position, then an electronic voting process will take place. An electronic voting process shall be an email sent out to all SBRA Members on the day following the November meeting. The email will provide a link to an online voting page. Online voting will be open for (1) week, from November 8th through November 14th at 9:00 pm. Following the end of the voting period, all newly elected Officers and Directors will be notified. An email will also be sent out to the membership announcing the new board and will also be announced at the December "IN PERSON" holiday social meeting on December 5th at 7:00 pm.
All newly elected Officers and Directors shall take office at the January 2025 SBRA General Meeting.

THERE IS NO COST TO ATTEND ...
but it will help us to know if you are coming so we can make sure to have enough food for all.
