This ride will have a bathroom stop in Westhampton Beach at mile 8, than head out to Dune Road for some ocean views, before heading into Quogue for some scenic views. We next head up to the Quogue Preserve. From the Preserve we ride into Westhampton where we stop at a pocket park, a few steps from the Beach Bakery and restrooms. To join this ride text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name, date of ride, SBRA, emergency and cell numbers. The Lake Tour is a scenic ride (40 miles) that takes us past 3 of the "Great Lakes" of Eastern Suffolk County: Lake Panamoka, Peconic Lake, and Wildwood Lake in Riverhead/Southampton. Please note that this is a B+ ride with a cruising speed of 18-20 mph, less for hills if needed and SLIGHTLY more for wind at our backs and on downhills. I work at keeping the group together and wait-ups, at convenient locations, will be provided if someone drops off the back. The midway point is at Wildwood Lake where, besides a nice view of the lake, there is a porta potty that so far has been kept quite clean. We return via route 51 South to route 24 West to Mill Rd. If anyone drops behind on Mill, the waitup will be at the intersection of Mill, Halsey Manor, and Connecticut Rds. (stop sign). Please be mindful that this is a B+ ride with speed restrictions. Hope to see you there. Click on the link below to view or download the route: Mel-O Monday, Lake Tour
Join me for this ride from Calverton, where we will ride on the back roads around Manorville, and take our break at the Bean & Bagel Cafe. This is a C+ ride, which will average 12.3 - 12.8, depending on the winds, etc. The exact route will be determined at the start, so there willnot be a cue sheet for this ride.
