CycleThe Suffolk Bicycle Riders Association is Long Island's largest cycling club. Organized in 1977, we are a club made up of all ages and cycling abilities. Active members enjoy riding together year round in a relaxed and friendly group atmosphere. Our rides range from short, easy trips for beginners, to moderately-paced tours with snack breaks, to fast, challenging rides for the more competitive minded. Volunteer club members organize group rides, leaving from various locations throughout Mid-Suffolk and the East End. Their routes provide us a wonderful variety of places to tour and explore.

SBRA promotes cycling of all abilities for health, fitness and fun. Come ride with SBRA.

    Spring Century Training 2025

2025 Beginner Century Training and Experienced Century Riders Training Information

Come join the fun and take part in our weekly century training rides. These rides (which start in early April) are designed to get us in shape for the season, and more specifically, to prepare us for the Annual SBRA Railroad Century Ride on Saturday, June 14, 2025 (check the Ride Calendar).

    First Time Century Riders

If you have never done a 100 mile ride (but would like to), sign up for our free "Beginner Century Training" School. The training rides will start on Saturday, April 5th, to prepare you for riding a century. The training rides will start with a 25 mile "D" pace ride. Each Saturday the rides get a little longer and a little faster, until you are able to ride 100 miles by June. Past experience proves that anyone who stays with the program WILL be able to comfortably complete the 100 mile ride. (Click here to view the information flier).

Getting back on your bicycle or new to riding?

We are planning a series of three beginner rides on Saturday's in March. We want to gauge interest in rides of this type and will follow up with two more if there is interest. These rides will be very easy with frequent stops and wait ups. No one will be left behind. We are very experienced ride leaders and sweeps.

These rides are ideal if you are new to club riding or have been off the bike for a while. We will do a longer ride introduction than most club rides to really make everyone feel comfortable and understand how to ride safely on the roads and in a group. Bring any questions you have about cycling or the club.

The first ride, "The Great River Ramble," is very scenic and interesting with frequent water views. There will be a restroom stop as well as opportunities to snack. There is no deli stop so bring your own water and snacks.

Please text to register or with questions.
Contact Bob & Josie Goykin at 631 737-1871 or century@sbraweb.org for more info and to sign up.
