Starting from the LIRR which is north of Westhampton Beach - park in the area to the right (east) side of the station.
We travel to the end of Dune rd, over the high bridge (walking allowed) and up into Hubbard County park before returning via Quogue wildlife park. A very scenic low to mid B- ride. Very varied terrain, there are some long flat sections (Dune rd) and some scenic rolling hills (Hubbard park).
There are plenty of bathroom breaks but no official snack shop so bring sufficient nutrition and hydration - if we spot a nice looking cafe we can stop, otherwise it will be at a 'pretty' place.
Casual ride east from the eastern most part of lot 5. Plan on riding hard pack by the shore as well as some paths and boardwalks in the towns. Loose agenda, and a sightseeing pace. Please text me if you plan to join.

***No A ride at this location. A Rides happen at Kreb Eastport location, same day & time***
Remember the Allison Gonzalez Tag-A-Long Kreb ride of days past??THIS IS IT. This is the B+ Kreb ride to The Maples. Pace is UP TO 18.9 avg at end (which means cruising to 21mph on the flats).
No sprints on Victory or anywhere else; group stays together.
NO SWEEP ON THIS RIDE!!! Wait-ups within reason. If this is your first B+ ride, bring a friend along & please also download the route to your GPS device.
Park in municipal lot then cruise over to bike shop at 10 Bell St to sign in, use restroom if needed & start ride. Any questions, please text me.
This will be an easy C+ ride around Center Moriches, that will average 11.8 - 12.5 and will be taking our break at Nettie's. There are some very nice water views along the way. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Since the exact route will be determined as we go along, there will not be a cue sheet.
The number of riders is limited, so if you want to ride, text me (631-523-2129) with your SBRA Member Number and Emergency Contact phone number. I will respond to your text and let you know if you have a spot on the ride. Once the ride is filled, I will change to post to indicate that.

This ride is 32 miles of pretty flat, going to Coram, plus 4 miles of hills: going UP Ashton, a toughie (wait-ups, no problem) followed by the rollers on West Bartlett and a break at the Springlake Golf Course. Please note: we will be on Rte. 25 for about a half mile. There is a wide shoulder.
I’ll cruise at a low C+ of 13 or so.
Any changes or cancellation will be posted no later than 7:30 morning of ride.
NOTE the 9:00 AM start at the lot across from The Maples! We're starting a little later, to allow the temperature to warm-up. Due to cooler conditions, we'll do this at around a B/B+ pace...and this will be paceline ride.
This time around, we'll have an extended edition of the scenicroute out to Westhampton Beach (WHB) and Quogue. We'll extend the ride out east on Dune Road all the way to Ponquogue Beach (at yourown pace), where we'll have a short stop and then turn around.
The details:The ride starts with a taste of Mill Road and Hot Water Street, to get those legs warmed-up. Then we'll do the descent past The Shrine, before we do part of Old Country Road and head down through Remsenberg to Westhampton Beach.
After a quick rest stop in Westhampton Beach, we head out to Quogue and pick up Dune Road for points East. We'll then loop back through WHB with a possible bakery stop, before we head up the Casa Basso and back around Eastport to the Manorville finish.
Let's ride 50 miles at an A pace from SmithPoint Beach. This is a great way to build up to the TOH on the 22nd and leads up to my 70 mile ride the following week. Similar route from last week when I started out of Kreb Bellport.
Sunshine Mall to Qouge to Westhampton with a stop at Beach Bakery at around mile 31. Overall average will be on lower end of scale but we'll open it up on Dune Rd with a wait-up at Qougue bridge.
This C+ ride of 18-25 miles will average 12-13mph. Bring snack/hydration as route depends on wind, tide, position of moon and ride leaders disposition. Newbies welcome and well taken care of and nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 8:00am. No need to text, email, phone, send message by carrier pidgeon or smoke signal me. Just show up 20 minutes before ride start to get your s**t together.
We usually save the Ram Islands for last but Saturday we'll do them early in the ride. Then on to Wade's Beach with food at mile 21. 1200' of gain but no rush on these quiet post-labor day roads.
This scenic ride explores some great views on both sides of the Nissequgue River. There are some long flat sections where we'll cruise at a high B- and some hills in the middle. My preference is to do this ride without a deli stop to finish up earlier, so bring appropriate snacks. There is one potential scenic food rest stop which we can do if that is the prefernce. As usual, we'll slow or wait on the hills as needed if you're not accustomed to a rolling hill ride. The goal is not average speed but getting a workout and enjoying the scenery!
Try it, you'll like it. You've worked your butt off this summer and are at your peak fitness, lets get out and see how it goes. We start out as a group, there are wait-ups at the abandon restaurant (now a brewery), and the Cutchogue deli. There is no upper limit, posted as a AA we try to do the best we can; if that's an A or A+ pace that's fine. This is a full drop ride, so bring your friends and equals to ride with as the group will break up on or before 51 & 111. Fast and Fun!
JUST TO CLEAR THINGS UP; THIS RIDE IS NOW LISTED AS MULTI, ALL "A" LEVEL RIDERS ARE WIELCOME THERE IS NO UPPER LIMIT TO SPEED SO AA IS A POSIBILITY AS WELL AS A+, A AND A-. PASS THE WORD AND BRING FRIENDS THAT YOU CAN RIDE WITH. THE PACE SHOULD BE TEMPO WITH A FEW SPRINTS.REGROUPING AT THE COUTCHOGUE DELI FOR A BIT LONGER OF A BREAK. THE MORE RIDERS THE MORE FUN.
At this point... we now have 10 confirmed riders... so the version of this ride that would've included the ferry to Brooklyn is no longer possible (too many riders).
Instead we will ride to Nathan's via the full length of the Rockaway Beack boardwalk... and the return will be via the Belt Parkway bike path through Howard Beach, back down to Far Rockaway, then Atlantic Beach, and home to Long Beach... but be flexible since I may improvise along the way.
We meet at the far east end of the Long Beach Boardwalk (Neptune Blvd) at the top of the boardwalk ramp.
Although posted as a B/B+ this will be a somewhat casual ride. The moving pace will be in the 16-18 mph range when possible... which will be off-set substantially by much slower riding on boardwalks and some city streets. The "hills" are mostly bridges (which can be challenging for people who don't like heights), but most of the route is dead flat.
This is an RSVP ride. Send me a text if you're coming along.
I have no set time frame for how long the ride will take, but we should be back in Long Beach by 3-3:30pm. This is a no drop ride and wait-ups (if necessary) will be no problem. The speed of the group will be adjusted down to the speed of the slowest rider. Just bring your best bike handling skills and don't get freaked out by some riding on busy city streets. There are restroom options all along the way. Bring plenty of snacks, gels, and water.
Questions? Concerns? Feel free to text me....
Remember to RSVP: Please text me in advance if you plan to come. Include your name and SBRA Member ID and I'll sign you in.
The threat of wet weather will make me cancel this ride and reschedule.
Meet at the Dayton Avenue School for a Thunderbird paceline ride out to Briermere Farms. The school district is now locking the parking lot gates, so park by the small administration building outside the gates.

We will be leaving the bank heading to Babylon. There will be a break at McDonlds around mile 20. This is a B ride that will average around 15 - 15.5 mph with road speeds that will reach 16 to 19 mph.
Join me for this easy ride from Calverton Memorial Park, where we will ride on the back roads around Manorville and Calverton. We may take our break in Manorville, or at the deli outside of Wildwood State Park, or at Bean & Bagel. This is a C+ ride, which will average 11.9 - 12.7, depending on the winds, etc. The exact route will be determined at the start, so there willnot be a cue sheet for this ride.
NOTE: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so please text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact Phone Number if you want to ride, I will return the text: YES, you have a spot; NO, ride is filled. CELL #: 631-523-2129.
This will be the usual ride to Hecksher Park and refreshments at the Islip Bagel store.
The road speed will be the same as what we have been doing between 15-18, we should average between 15.5-15.9 depending of course on weather and wind conditions. As of today the weather is suppose to be very nice but breezy so road speed could be slightly slower depending on how breezy it is.
Assistance in pulling is greatly appreciated.
Please check morning of ride for cancellations. If I need to cancel the ride I will post it by 7am.
There are 2 things for sure about this ride: it's scenic and it's hilly. Climb at your own pace, wait ups at the top of each climb. I'm hoping for a C+/B- average, but this will be a 'B' effort. We will most likely head to Blue Point, where we will tahe our break; there will be a bathroom stop.
The number of riders is limited, so if you want to ride text me (631-523-2129) with your SBRA Member Number and Emergency Contact phone number. I will respond to your text and let you know if you have a spot on the ride. Once the ride is filled, I will change to post to indicate that.
It's off to Westhampton Beach on a controlled paceline ride leaving from The Maples.
Heading East, the route takes us around Eastport and through Remsenberg along the waterfront. We'll then have a short food stop at Westhampton Beach at around 18 miles.

PLEASE NOTE LOCATION AND TIME CHANGE: We'll be starting from Hecksher Park - Parking Field #1.
In an effort to avoid major roads (i.e., Union Blvd.) and intersections (i.e., Montauk Highway), during rush hour, I'll be taking mostly neighborhood roads; making this a "meandering" ride with the option of added mileage, if desired. Bring snacks/drinks and lights (just in case we need them).
Contact me at 631-521-0688 for any questions regarding the ride.
Any changes/cancellations will be made here prior to 3:00pm the day of the ride.
Park in the rear of the lot accross from Little Vincents. We'll take quick and scenic visit to two beaches. You don't have to speak Itailian or plan to go on trip to Italy with Ronnie to do this ride. We'll be lucky to end up with the C+ pace as these will be slow hills around Port Jeff, Belle Terre and Mt. Sinai. Here's the Ride With GPS route:
Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 11.9 - 12.7, no one gets dropped, and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. We will loop around part of lower Stony Brook, then go around St. James. East wind forecast for Sat so this should be a relatively easy century. We'll park at Blue Point Brewery and ride to Patchogue LIRR station (less than 1/2 mile away) and catch the 8:13am train to Montauk. I plan to have breakfast on the train. There's a Starbucks across the street from the brewery and a few Deli's/Bagel shops nearby. Pls come early if you plan to get food for the train - the train won't wait for us. Lol
We arrive Montauk at 10am and start riding. There's an option to cut about 16 hilly miles off if you don't want to do the loop out to the lighthouse. You can hang out in town for about an hour until we loop around. Bailout option if you find it hard to finish. There's a train that leaves Montauk at 3:43pm and makes all local stops to Patchogue. You just need to ride to the closest station to get back to ride start.
Very scenic ride as I try to avoid Mtk Hwy as much as possible (see route below). Food/Hydration/Rest Room stops about every 20-25 miles. Paceline ride. Group stays together. No one gets dropped. Wait-ups after hills.
Bring $$/credit card for lunch/food stops and train fare (I use the MTA TrainTime app to purchase tickets and to check train schedules. App should be set up well before trip). Pack sufficient hydration/food to eat along the way and start hydrating and carb loading at least 24 hours before ride.
Call or txt if you have any questions (347-922-3824).
We are still working on the route, but we will do some hills tomorrow heading up to wading river, then west towards Port Jeff, etc. Check back later today for route map. See you tomorrow at 8am.

join us for the usual route out to Manorville with the opt Mill loop. If you don't want to do it there is a group that avoids that section and you can go with them. We regroup at the end of the loop.
NOTE: I am still recovering from the big 69 mile ride, so I am dropping the pace to an honest B/B+ pace ! So expect an average between 16 and 17 MPH. And we will drop the pace, if a rider falls off the back!
It's time a for a Thunderbird B/B+ paceline ride to Westhampton Beach, from the Dayton Avenue School! We'll have a short stop at the Beach Bakery.
NOTE: The school district is sometimes locking the parking lot gates, so park by the small administration building outside the gates.
This is a new route that begins with a run up Dayton Ave. and continues to Hot Water Street and Eastport-Manor Road. Then it's Old Country Road and down to Remsenberg and Westhampton Beach. Confused? Just remember to listen for turn directions!
After the stop, we'll visit the Casa Basso and Old Country, before we head back up to Manorville.
Ride starts at Ronkonkoma RR South Lot A1 and goes to Sayville and Oakdale. This is a C+ ride, cruising at 13 to 15 mph to get an average of 12 to 13 mph. Any changes will be posted at least 90 minutes before the ride.
Food: Bring snack
Bathroom break: Sayville Library if needed, mile 11 or ferry at mile 17
Let's take an early September Saturday morning and head out to the East End to explore the magical beauty and excellent riding on Shelter Island, an island without a traffic light.
The ride will be about 36 miles and provide an overview of the island. We will stop at various points to enjoy special views and some unusual attractions. We will keep a steady pace, but won't rush, allowing us to enjoy the scenic vistas. Please note, Shelter Island is flat, rolling and hilly in many places, usually short hills, but somewhat frequent hills (some with real grades) that are mostly fun with some excellent downhills. Everyone will take the hills at their own pace and we will compress to allow the group to catch up.
We will meet at the Greenport LIRR parking lot and head over to the ferry to Shelter Island at 9:30. Please arrive early to give us time to gather. Bathrooms are available at the ferry terminal on the Shelter Island side. The ferry is $6.00 in cash for a round trip for you and your bike (make sure to get and save your round trip ticket). The fee is paid on the ferry.
IMPORTANT Please eat a good breakfast and bring substantial snacks and plenty of hydration. Also, please bring a sandwich or something for lunch, as we will not be making an indoor food stop. Near the end of the ride, we will stop by our place on Shelter Island. There will a short period of hanging out on our deck and we will have some additional snacks and drinks for all. Afterwards, we will make our way back to the ferry via a 3 mile route with some amazing views and homes.
Please let me know you will be joining us, by texting me at 917-921-5358, so I can judge how many folks will be on the deck. Also please bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore. I will share the final (I'm always tweaking) ridewithgps file with those who contact me.
Ride is FULL as of 5:30 PM...if you didn't make it, I will see you on the next ride!
Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 11.8 - 12.7; no one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride route will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. Bring snacks and gels. There will be a rest stop somewhere along the way.
Obviously… not your typical "club ride". It's more like a day-long adventure ride. I'm very selective about the roads/paths I choose. Most will have a designated bike lane. A few will not. Some bicycle paths will have bumpy segments. I always use my back-up "rain" road bike with 28mm tires.
This is a B/B+ ride ... not so much for the speed, but more for the hills (bridges) and the general confident bike handling skills required to navigate a variety of advanced cycling situations.
This is also an RSVP ride. Contact me (text) in advance if you plan to come. Provide me with your SBRA Member # and I'll sign you in.
If you need an address for your GPS to find the start location, then use 42-25 Vernon Blvd, Queens, NY 11101
Feel free to text me with your questions or concerns.
This C+ ride of 18-25 miles will average 12-13mph. Bring snack/hydration as route depends on wind, tide, position of moon and ride leaders disposition. MOM is a B+/A- ride which means cruising at 19-23mph and averaging 19. Lately the ride has been getting faster and I would like to slow it down a bit. So, if you find you will not be able to ride within these parameters, then please do not attend this ride. There is a break at mile 22 at Wildwood Lake and there may be waitups as needed, the last one being at Mill Rd and Connecticut/Halsey Manor stop sign. View/download the ride below.
Come join us as we meander around Calverton and Manorville with a stop late in the ride for a break at the scenic and serene Peconic River Herb Farm with the opportunity for a brief picnic. If you have never been to the Peconic herb Farm, it is truly a wonderful and interesting stop. Bring a sandwich or snacks for our break (substantial food is usually not available at the Herb Farm) along with hydration and an upbeat inquisitive attitude, ready to explore.

Lights are reccomended, just in case. We'll cruise at a quick B- and do whatever you need on the hills. This is a good ride to get or stay in hill shape. Join us for pizza after the ride.

We will take our break at the St. James Bagel Shop (food, beverages, and bathroom available). Route to be determined the morning of the ride, so no cue sheets.

How about a nice paceline spin out to Briermere Farms to get ready for the Tour of the Hamptons weekend? It looks like the weather will be rainy for Friday, so let's try to get this ride in on Thursday! Hope for Mr. Blue Sky: https://youtu.be/d5GLoW0CVqo
We'll keep the pace under control, so we are ready for Sunday! We'll head outbound through the fields, and the return run will be up Route 24 with a riders' choice for the finish! AND, hopefully a tailwind return...Muffins are at about 18 miles.

Obviously… not your typical "club ride". This will be much more of a "tour ride". I'm very selective about the roads/paths I choose. Many will have a designated bike lane... a few might not.... but on the brightside... there are no bridges. Of all the city rides I put together, I think this one feels the most adventurous.
This is a B/B+ ride ... not so much for the speed, but for the general confident bike handling skills required to navigate a variety of advanced cycling situations.
This is an RSVP ride. Contact me (text) in advance if you plan to come. Provide me with your SBRA Member # and I'll sign you in.
NO wind in the woods! Lots of Mtn Bikers have gotten their start here ... Ticks will NOT be a problem as the trails have gotten pretty wide since COVID kept people home and they rode more ;-). I will have spray if someone wants to use it. Stay on the trail and you'll have no problem!
I will ride as slow as the slowest rider. If no begineers call or show than figure this to be an Intermediate ride and we'll do most of the BDs but it won't be fast.
This venue requires a DEC parking permit (haven't seen anyone being checked for a long time though). Easy to obtain a permit here: https://www.sbraweb.org/node/6490 .
If you don't have a permit you can park ~ 1/2 mile away at the Veterans Memorial Park and ride over.
Text me at 631-988-6557 if you plan to ride with me and I will wait at the start if you're running late.

Newbies welcome and well taken care of and nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 8:00am. No need to text, email, phone, send message by carrier pidgeon or smoke signal me. Same route as last week but extended to Cedar Beach for the extra 5 miles. No worries! We keep the group together and plenty of short stops. The good riding weather is here, this is the time to do hills, hope you'll join me.
A word on the ride start. I thought of changing it to an easier to get to location; but in the end I thought it better to drive a little further and avoid riding on more congested roads. Leave exta time for traffic and lights. Note the later ride start.
Depending on how we feel asa group we may jsut do the original 30 miles.

Briermere's has restrooms and outdoor picnic tables. Individual baked goods, pies and hot drinks are available. If enough riders are interested, we can share the cost of a pie.
