NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Let's ride 50 miles at an A pace from SmithPoint Beach. This is a great way to build up to the TOH on the 22nd and leads up to my 70 mile ride the following week. Similar route from last week when I started out of Kreb Bellport.
Sunshine Mall to Qouge to Westhampton with a stop at Beach Bakery at around mile 31. Overall average will be on lower end of scale but we'll open it up on Dune Rd with a wait-up at Qougue bridge.
This C+ ride of 18-25 miles will average 12-13mph. Bring snack/hydration as route depends on wind, tide, position of moon and ride leaders disposition. Newbies welcome and well taken care of and nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 8:00am. No need to text, email, phone, send message by carrier pidgeon or smoke signal me. Just show up 20 minutes before ride start to get your s**t together.
We usually save the Ram Islands for last but Saturday we'll do them early in the ride. Then on to Wade's Beach with food at mile 21. 1200' of gain but no rush on these quiet post-labor day roads.
This scenic ride explores some great views on both sides of the Nissequgue River. There are some long flat sections where we'll cruise at a high B- and some hills in the middle. My preference is to do this ride without a deli stop to finish up earlier, so bring appropriate snacks. There is one potential scenic food rest stop which we can do if that is the prefernce. As usual, we'll slow or wait on the hills as needed if you're not accustomed to a rolling hill ride. The goal is not average speed but getting a workout and enjoying the scenery!
