Details (RL read field instructions carefully):

UPDATE:  New ride start location and revised route posted 6/20/23 at 7:45pm.

I've made the ride start slightly further west (Speonk LIRR) to avoid Hamptons "contractor traffic" in the morn on Rte 27.  We can all sleep a little longer.  LOL   I also revised the route slightly to help shelter us from the forecsed east wind.

If you intend to join this ride you must pre-register.  Pls call or txt me at 347-922-3824.

This is a very scenic ride with about 4,000 ft of climbing if we complete the full route.  I've created a new route which will allow for several "bail-out" options if we can't all complete the full course.  I am planning to make stops about every 25-30 miles for hydration, restrooms and food but this may change as "nature" calls.  Avg speed should be on the upper end of the B/B+ range (close to 17 mph) with a max cruising speed of 20; however, this is always subject to change based on weather conditions.

Please pack proper hydration (at least 2 water bottles), food to eat along the way (Cliff Bars, trail mix, GU packs, etc), some $$ for lunch and ferry ride and a cell phone.

I will try to keep the group together and my intent is not to drop anyone; however, based on past experience, some riders may not be able to finish the full century+ for various reasons (muscle cramping, heat exhaustion, mechanical issues, etc.).  In this case, please have a back-up plan to get yourself home (spouse, friend, Uber, etc).  I also have a bail-out option once we reach the south fork.  There are several trains leaving Montauk in the afternoon which make all local stops back to Hampton Bays.  Riders can hop on at Montauk, Amagansett, East Hampton, Bridgehampton and Southampton.  Pls download the MTA TrainTime app so you can have access to the train schedule.

If anyone has any questions, please call.  Check website Tues evening for any possible changes.  As Norm always says "life happens
