New Starting place. This will finish at a B+/A- pace with a Harder Ride Push. Could be 30-40 miles. We can meet at St James RR station and ride to begin of route.
Please Text me Saturday by 8pm to let me know if you plan to ride. Thank you in advance
A tag along to Dan's A+ ride. We will start out together behind the faster group and go on our merry way. Rest stop at the Exxon gas station and waitups as necessary. Hope to see you there!
Going to Great River. Just a little slower and a mile shorter than Howard. I would like to come in between 14.8 and 14.9 mph +/- a tad. In order to get this average we will be doing road speeds between 14.5 and 16.5 mph. Expect down hills and wind at your back to be faster. We will take a break at the bagel shop about mile 14. Things could change slightly due to road conditions and wind direction.Pulling is always appreciated. There will be GOOD STUFF after the ride
If you have any questions, or concerns please text me at 631.484.3490. Should there be a cancelation or change it will be posted by 7:15am.
The route will bring back some of those Old School favorites like Station Road and Mill Road through Yaphank (in both directions!). So, there will be some descending and climbing fun on the ride. At around the 21 mile mark, we'll have a stop at the Manorville McDonalds. We will avoid the Horseblock-Victory deathtrap intersection on this ride!
Please, NO surges on the front of the paceline and let's ride together as a team, not like a group of Freds!
We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. At these speeds Pulling is Important ! I would like to keep the road speed between 17 - 18 mph and come in at an average Hi 15 and Lo 16. Good stuff after the ride.
CHANGE:at the request of one of my riders, the start time is now 9:30.
Join me for this morning ride from SAYVILLE to ?? This will be a C+ ride and will average 12.2 - 12.8. The exact route will be determined at the start. Wherever we go there will be a bathroom stop & a food break. Since nothing is certain until we start, there will not be a cue sheet for this ride.
NOTE: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so you must text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact Phone Number if you want to ride, I will return the text: YES, you have a spot; NO, ride is filled. CELL #: 631-523-2129.
This is a scenic ride with multiple views of water. farms and vineyards. There will be a stop for lunch, and several breaks for water and snacks which all riders should bring. Timewise, this will be a long ride, so plan your day accordingly. The ride will head out along Peconic Bay, and than head up to the L.I. Sound. We will than head out to Nassau Point (riders who don't want to do the hills to Nassau Point can hang out at the beach prior to the point, and we will pick you up on our way back). There wil be a mandatory stop at the Magic Fountain in Mattituck (you don't have to buy their wonderful ice cream). We than go to Veteran's Park in New Suffolk for a bathroom stop, and head back to our cars. Note: This ride is weather dependent, strong winds or rain will change or cancel this ride. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of ride. Number of riders will be limited, if I can split the ride, and I have someone willing to lead the ride, it will allow for more riders.
