Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

I fixed the map from last week...there were a few glithches. It's the same map( isp address ) ...just updated. You might have to reload it.
Note: Ride START corrected to WESTERN end of Greenway on RT 25A Setauket ...
It will be a slow ride as it's early in the year for 1500 feet of climbing (distance and ascent does NOT include end of ride bonus hill of Thompson Hay Path). The last time I did this ride I finished with 12.5 mph. I will gladly slow it down on the hills to have a finishing pace may be more like a C ride. I stop at the top of some of the hills to regain a normal heart rate ;-) .
Off to Briermere's, with a brief stop to view the Bison if they are in a field near the road. Briermere's has individual baked goods, as well as pies, and hot and cold drinks. Indoor bathrooms are available, as well as porta-potties. If you are interested in sharing the cost of a pie, and there are enough pie eaters on the ride, bring money. to join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of the ride.
Increasing our distance. This will be a B-ride, trying to keep a cruising speed between 16 and 17mph. A scenic ride so there will be stops to look at the views! This ride is not a race.
No bathrooms at start but we will stop at veterans beach (1.5miles) to use their facilities. There is a deli at mile 24 in Southold where we will stop for a break/early lunch/late coffee. At the end we can visit the ice cream shop for a reward - they open at noon.
If all goes well (no flats etc) we should be back between 1:00 and 1:30 - no guarantees though, as it might be so nice out that we want to hang around at the lighthouse and/or beach.
SORRY, BUT THE RIDE IS FULL AS OF 8:30 PM ON THURSDAY.
Join me for this late morning C ride around Center Moriches, to our break at Nettie's. This is a modified route to keep out of any winds that may crop up, and we will average 11.0 - 11.5. There are some very nice water views along the way. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Since the exact route will be determined as we go along, there will not be a cue sheet.
Please text me to let me know you are joining the ride.
Riders should arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
This week I will be away for Business and return Late Thursday so hilly Thursday is now Hilly Friday. This is posted as a B+/A- pace but with hills will come in under that pace. Ride pace with hills will come in at 18MPH. 1700 feet of elevation.
