NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Off to  Smithpoint Beach with its beautiful Atlantic Ocean views.  Bring snacks, or purchase them at a 7-11 about 1/2 mile before the beach.  If the wind cooperates, and every rider is interested, we can add 5 miles and go to Osprey Pointe, with it's dock that goes way out into the water,  and super views.  Smithpoint has restrooms. and their will be a porta-potty stop both way at Wertheim.  If you want to join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your SBRA#, emergency and cell numbers, and your full name.  If I do not receive any texts I cancel the ride.  Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 08:15.

For this ride the Average speed is 11-12mph depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition with a distance of 18-23 miles. Nobody gets left behind and newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Any cancellation will be before 8:30am. No need to text me.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.

Due to Thursday's forecast this ride has been moved to Wednesday.

will be leaving Bank of America and head to Great River and East Islip for a 21 mile ride.  The ride will be at a B- pace with an average speed of around 14.5 to 15 mph and road speeds that will reach 16 to 18 mph.

Changes or cancelation will be posted by 1:00pm day of ride.

RIDE IS CANCELED RUDI'S STILL A GO

The route -  a loop around the block, or straight out, and straight back, whatever you want to do. However, if the ride gets cancelled Rudi's will still be a go for 4PM. After the ride we eat - You can have a burger, fries and a beer for about $7.00. Beef tacos around two to three bucks depending on the style.

The average road speed will be 6 mph since I haven't ridden for wee bit. I will need a sweep for this route since I am a little unsure of the route. I will supply a Q sheet for those that want it.

Very Important - If you plan on coming to this ride, and eating after the ride please text me by 1PM at 631.484.3490. I need to make reservations for a table. 

If the ride needs to be cancelled it will be done so by noon. Rudi's will not be cancelled. Any questions text me, I will answer as soon as I can.
