NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

The woods will not be as cold as the road with the wind chill factor but dress appropriately ... esp. your hands ... the rest of you will heat up quickly as you ride.
Cathedral Pines has a good deal of technical and hilly sections BUT there are also milder single track sections that many riders can handle when keeping the speed down. Come along and I will be more than willing to wait if you want to walk any section that you feel is above your pay grade!
Lots of the trail is pretty wide and ticks will not be a problem unless you dive into the bush ... Also, I will have bug spray available before the ride.
For faster and more skilled riders be there at 9 to ride with Steve ... you will be out ahead of the group I lead as we will go at the slowest rider's pace. No one will be left behind in the woods!
Brickwell Farmingdale is our host location for this ride from Farmingdale Village to Target Rock (and just beyond) in Lloyd Neck.
We will pass through the towns of Bethpage, Melville, Huntington, Cold Spring Harbor, Syosset, Woodbury and Hicksville before returning to Farmingdale. We will have one rest stop in Caumsett State Park (with rest rooms and vending machines only), so please bring along nutrition accordingly. This is a no-drop ride with wait-ups as needed.
Brickwell MultiSports will provide a coffee and bagel breakfast for us in the shop after the ride. Additionally, the shop’s restroom will be available to us before the ride.
Please park and meet us behind the bike shop in the free municipal parking lot, and NOT on Main Street, where parking meters may be in effect.
Leaving Oakdale RR we will be heading to Bellport. Our food stop will be at the Bellport Deli. Depending on the weather & route this ride may be a few miles more or less than posted.
This is a B- ride with an average speed of 14.5 to 15 mph, road speeds may reach 17-18mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 7:30am day of ride. Any questions call Mike at 516 448-8545
This will be a fun and fast 50 mile ride out of Calverton, like the ol' school Jim Drago Saturday rides. It will average somehwere between 21-22 mph depending on the size and makeup of the group. We will have a wait up at the top of Little Flower and a quick stop at the SBRA favorite Gas Station (at mile 30 or so).
Hope to see you there!
Here is the route, please make sure to download it to your bike computer so you will know the turns:
park in the lot south of Wendy's, near the RR tracks. We'll ride to Nettie's but won't take our break there til near the end of the ride. Some rollers at the start of the ride then it's mostly flat. Looks like a chilly day so dress warm! Check back for any changes which would be posted by 7 am.
WIND CHILL OF 34, TOO COLD FOR ME! SEE YOU SUNDAY.
