Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. Ok , Marie and i were inspired by the sites that we saw on the lobster ride.We have decided to do a ride from Duckwalk Vineyards to Orientpoint.Marie has made reservations for up to 18 people. It costs 12 dollars a person . We have to give them a head count the Saturday before which is September 14. Just give Marie or myself the money at the ride start and we will pay for the group. That is how they want it. The 12 dollars covers 4 samples. As for the ride itself ,it is pretty straight forward. We will take route25 all the way to Orient. There is a Deli at Orient where we will stop for breakfast. Duckwalk does not open until 10:30 so no bathrooms at the ride start. Park in the back of the building. You can reach me at 631/620/8903 if you want to reserve a seat. If by some chance we fill all 18 seats you can still ride and try to get in on your own for the wine tasting. It will be rain or shine. If the ride itself is canceled we still have the place reserved so lets have a good time.
We will be doing a loop going out to Connetquot Park then head north to Kings Park. There will be few opportunities to take a quick break along the route before heading back to the Park.
This is a B/B+ a ride with an average pace between 16 to 17 mph+/-, depending on the road conditions and wind direction. The road speed will be between 18 and 20 mph.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations, which will be posted no later than 7:30 am if necessary. My cell number is 347-677-4164; call or text anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start location.
Leaving Oakdale RR we will be heading to Bellport. Our food stop will be at the Bellport Deli. Depending on the weather & route this ride may be a few miles more or less than posted.

Freeways, https://youtu.be/O0HuZNAQQaI?list=PL-RuR0OET6D1ilHwmb0_5IE4Hq1pZAJ-u , as the title implies we'll be hitting a series of highways with nice wide shoulders to paceline on. We'll see Route 25, William Floyd Parkway, Route 25A and Route 24 on the way to Riverhead for a bagel stop.
The return finds us hitting the Alien Highway, heading south through Area 51. (Wait-up after the top of the Hill, please).
COME ON THIS 18-22 MILE RIDE AT A 10.6-11.6 PACE. Newbies always welcome and well taken care of.
