Saturday looks like another ugly rainy Saturday/ Best case is extremely diull and dreary, and the most likely is lots of rain and wind - not the weather for this ride. So, I will look to reschedule.
Whew, now that's a title. The east end ride series continues but adds a bunch of ferry rides. We meet by the parking lot in Greenport closest to the Shelter Island Ferry. We will than head to Shelter Island for some lovely riding before heading to the South Ferry, followed by lots of water views, before heading to Sag Harbor and then down to the climbs up and down Two Holes of Water and Bull Path. Then we head back to Shelter Island for some additional riding and a brief snack break on our deck, before a ride back to the North Ferry to Greenport. Overall 45 miles, with some hills, but nothing killer and most pay you back nicely. We will regularly compress at the bottom of the hills, so take them at your own pace.
The plan is is to take the ride at a touring type pace to enjoy the sights. Also, although we show-off a few Shelter Island attractions, this won't be as detailed as my Shelter Island only rides (e.g. no sculputure garden this time). No sit down lunch stop, so bring snacks, a sandwich, if you want, and plenty of hydration - especially bring an upbeat positive attitude, ready to explore and discover. Also bring $12 cash (exact if you can) for the round-trip ferries ($6.00 round trip on both the North and South ferries).
Please text me at 917-921-5358 to let me know you will be joining us. Also, I usually forward the final (I'm always tweaking) ridewithgps file to those who text.
