Social Media, my recent experience, HELP!!!

It occurred to me that SBRA needs to address, promote, and recruit a younger audience.  With Super Cycling Saturday (SCS) coming up April 1st, what better way to attract a younger crowd than with social media. The problem is that I’m not a social media guru nor is anyone else that I know.  So, the first steps I took were a few tries with Facebook tutorials and with www.youtube.com.  Unfortunately, that did not work out so well, but I discovered that my local library, Emma Clark Memorial in Setauket, has a Teen Tech program.  Within the 1-hour time slot I had with a 14-year-old, we identified many Facebook groups and event pages in Long Island where SCS could be marketed.  I can’t wait to go back to my next Teen Tech meeting in 2 weeks.

An hour with a teenager was great, but one hour of training every two weeks is not enough. Are there any SBRA members who can help SBRA become a significant player on social media? Please contact me. Thank you.
