Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Join me for a fun ride of the 3 Great Lakes of Eastern Suffolk County, NY: Panamoka, Peconic, and Wildwood. This will be a B+ ride, cruising at 18-20 with variations for the wind and hills. A sweep is not required but wait-ups are, so if anyone drops off the back we will wait up or slow down. The main rest stop will be at Wildwood Lake, behind the bowling alley at the park. Please view the link below to check out the route but note that there are a couple of minor changes that will be discussed before the ride. Hope you can join me.
Off to Bean and Bagel, which has bathrooms and an open tent for social distancing. We will be on the Grumman Trail, as well as local roads in Manorville and Calverton. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your SBRA, emergency and cell numbers, your full name and date of ride. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which will be posted by 07:45am. If there are strong winds, ride speed will be reduced.
CHANGE: now starting in Sayville to join other rides to celebrate Rich Mardosa's Birthday, and some people may be getting pizza afterwards, so you are welcome to join in {at personal expense}.
This will be an easy C+ ride, which will average 12.2 - 12.8, no one gets dropped, and we will be observing spacing rules, etc.
Route to be determined the morning of the ride, so no cue sheets. However, we will take a break where food, beverages, and bathrooms are available.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE #1: You must be a club member to go on club rides.
NOTE #2: riders at this time are limited. You MUST text me with your name & SBRA Member Number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled...CELL #: 631-523-2129
Having pizza after the ride to celebrate Rich M's birthday (with Christine's group). Not sure of the exact route and it's supposed to be windy so mileage may be less. Let me know if you are joining me on this ride.
Think we should do a ride up to Middle Island today. The average pace will be 14.5 to 15.0 +/- a bit. The road speed, 15-17. The stop - bagel in the middle of the ride, or bagel at the end of the ride, your choice. Route could be changed if the wind conditions are not conducive to this ride. Pulling always appreciated. You know the drill.
Any questions about this ride text me 631.484.3490. Cancellations due to whatever by 0730
I'm leading Mike F's Taco ride this week. This 22 mile B ride will average 15-16 mph with cruising speeds of 17-19 mph. We'll enjoy the same streets of Great River & East Islip, and will also do 2 loops in Heckscher State Park where we can stretch our legs a little. Tacos at Jackson Hall after the ride.
Moderate paced B/B+ South Shore ride with some park loops at the end. Riders will have the ability to "stretch legs" at some points during the ride with wait-ups to regroup. No one gets dropped. Route changes slightly depending on weather/wind so mileage subject to +/- 10% differential.
No need to be 20 mins early - just be ready to ride by 4:00pm.
