Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. I added a few more miles and a hill or two so we'll do 1400 feet of climbing. Not too much but if you've been riding on the south shore too often this will certainly be a change of pace. I'll be glad if we finish with a B pace but it will be a B/B+ effort. Make sure you bring two bottles to hydrate with. Deli stop at the 12 mile point in Setauket.
Off to Bean and Bagel, with outside eating areas and indoor restrooms. Ten miles of the ride will be on the paved Grumman Trail. To join, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 withn your full name and date of ride.
Join me for this scenic C- ride, cruising speed will be 10-11 depending on the group. No one gets dropped.
We will meander around some quiet back roads in East Islip, before heading west to Islip where we will stop at the beach for a snack and bathroom break. Then ride the Heckscher Park bike path where we will wind our way along the Great South Bay on our return leg to Timber Point Golf Course. There may be snacks available at the beach. Please bring water, spare tube, and a snack if you wish.
Please always check back here for any changes before leaving for the ride
