This morning it might be nice to take a ride through Bellport and Patchogue stopping for a break at Mickey D’s around mile 20. The average pace will be between 14.0 to 14.5 mph depending on the roads, wind direction, dew point, and other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -16.5 mph.) to produce the average. Depending on the wind and the route back we might be +/- a mile.

Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00am if necessary. My cell phone number is 631-484-3490; call or text anytime if you have questions about this ride.

UPDATE - The BOARD is suspending club rides being posted on the website, and those currently posted will most likely be removed (including this one). However, individual ride leaders may still lead rides (nothing to do with the club) and, obviously, follow safe guidelines regarding the virus pandemic. I will still be going out on this ride, and will either mention other on the Forum, or in individual emails. Everyone must make their own decision to ride or not - obviously don't if you are sick or ill 0 but if yo want the exercise, and to get out in the fresh air (which is what is being recommended), you are more than welcome.

Come out and join me for this ride from Bellport to Sayville. We will have a bathroom stop & break (outside) somewhere along the route

This is a C+ ride, which will average 11.7 - 12.4, depending on the wind and the riders, and there will be cue sheets.

Note: If the winds are very strong, the destination of the ride may change.

If you are sick, or feel sick, for the safety of your fellow riders please don't ride today and to be extra safe, please bring your own pen to sign in.

Starting our hills for the season.  We'll be doing a low C+ on the flats (13-ish-14) and whatever we can on the hills.  One change this year:  I will change up a few miles of the route from time to time.

We will be riding on most Tuesdays, getting up to B- average over the coming months.  If you are interested in getting better at hills and can do a C+ pace, now is the time to join us. To start this series, we’ll do a low C+ on the flats and everyone will bike at his own ability (or lack thereof) on the hills. Take the hills at your own pace and we’ll meet at the top.  No pressure there.

We go from the ride start to the lighthouse in Old Field.  We have our break there at the overlook, so bring your own snack.  There is no bathroom stop on this ride.

Questions before ride, my email is [frchtchr@hotmail.com].  Morning of ride my cell is 631-835-1454.   Cancellation or change for weather will be posted no later than 8:30am.
